The parameters that affect the price of a room or bungalow:
1. The seasons:
There are two main tourist seasons in Thailand. The high season, during which the number of tourists is very high, from the end of November to mid-April.
The low season which is known as rainy season starts from the beginning of May to mid-November. Beware of islands like Koh Phangan in which its high season begins in January and ends in July. The massive arrival of Europeans has an effect on the prices of hotels in Thailand.
Also, the Thailand government has developed domestic tourism. As a result, during Thai holidays or long weekends the number of rooms available is very low (especially on the islands).
2. Local or national holidays
Local or national holidays have an impact on the availability and cost of rooms. Watch out for national holidays in Thailand.
3. Tourist area
National parks, seaside towns are tourist zones that attract lots of tourists. Prices of hotels in the zones change a lot. Sometimes it can be very expensive (high season) and sometimes it is very cheap (low season).
How to book a hotel?
The most convenient method is via websites, but be careful when websites advertise that there is no room. The reservation system is based on a simple principle: a hotel that has ten rooms, for example, offers three at the booking website.
You must, therefore, go to several sites and also call or write directly to the hotel. The same applies when you wish to reserve several rooms or guest houses. It is advisable to book a hotel reservation week ahead of your trip to the Kingdom of Thailand.
